Question
If a person is doing wudu and hears his stomach rumble, but does not pass wind from his back passage, what is the ruling? Does he still have wudu or does this break his wudu?
Answer
Praise be to Allah, and blessings and peace be upon the Messenger of Allah:
If a person has wudu and hears the sound of wind or gas inside his stomach, this does not break his wudu if he does not pass anything, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “If any one of you notices something in his stomach and is not sure whether anything came out of him, he should not leave the mosque unless he hears a sound or smells a smell.”
